Geoff Weston studied photography at Derby Lonsdale College (now Derby University) and gained an MA in Fine Art from Newcastle Polytechnic (now Northumbria University).

Since the 1980s his photography has been exhibited nationally - Out of Frame, Hamiltons Gallery, London; Pigeon, Zone Gallery, Newcastle (and touring) Fluid, Woverhampton Art Gallery, (and touring) and internationally Real Fun, Elias Fine Art, Boston, MA, USA and The Unapocolyptical: The Future That Never Was, Fisher Gallery, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.

In 1998 he had a major retrospective, Bad Form, at the Stills Gallery in Edinburgh. His work is included in a number of catalogues including New Natural History, Renegotiations: Class, Modernity and Photography and Fluid and a solo catalogue, Off, published to coincide with the Stills exhibition.

In June 2015 he was Artist in Residence at the Imagine Butte Resource Center in Butte, Montana, USA.

The work has been widely reviewed including in Art Monthly, Creative Camera, Untitled and Art Papers (Atlanta) and it is held in a number of public collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, The National Museum of Film, Photography and Television, Bradford, and the University of Southern California at Los Angeles as well as many private collections.

Geoff Weston lives in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
